Synopsis:
An alternative look at the phenomenon of migration through a collection of portraits of everyday life in Kavala. The increasingly aging local community in comparison with young passers-by who ended up in the city recently due to some distant war. Silently reflecting on the past and patiently waiting for the future, all of them live a normal, seemingly quiet life.

Director's Biography/Director's Short Bio:
Tasos Giapoutzis was born and raised in Kavala, while in recent years he lives and works in London as a filmmaker and film professor at the University of Bedfordshire. In 2017, he was awarded a scholarship by the University of York to conduct his doctoral studies in film. His films have participated in more than 100 film festivals around the world. His training as a director includes participations in the Go Short Talent Campus in Naimechen, Talent Development Campus in Cork and Reykjavik Talent Lab in Iceland. Quiet Life is his first feature-length creative endeavor.
Tasos Giapoutzis was born and raised in Kavala and the past two years lives and works in London as a filmmaker and film teacher in University of Bedfordshire. In 2017 he was awarded a scholarship from the University of York to fulfill his PhD in cinema. His films have participated in over than 100 film festivals all over the world. He has also participated in Go Short Talent Campus in Nijmegen, Talent Development Campus in Cork and Reykjavik Talent Lab in Iceland. Quiet Life is his first feature film.
