Synopsis:

Petrina and Stathis were in love from a young age. But their paths parted and each followed their own path. They had children and grandchildren and built their families. Several years later, when they were left alone, they met again and got married to grow old together. Today, 85 years old, they live in a house in Syros with their canaries.

Petrina and Stathis fell in love when they were little kids. However, they went separate ways and each one followed their own path. They had children, grandchildren, they raised their families. Several years later, when they were left alone, they got together again, got married to grow old together. Today, at 85 years old, they live together in Syros island with their canaries.

Director's Biography/Director's Short Bio:

George Governor was born in Athens in 1988. He studied at the Department of Architecture of the University of Patras and did postgraduate studies in the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication, specialization in Culture and Documentary Film Production at the University of the Aegean. He has been working as a professional photographer since 2012. Today, he lives in Athens and works as a freelancer. He has collaborated with unhcr in Greece, the Greek National Committee of UNICEF, websites (Info-war.gr, Flix.gr, Archpoints, Mashable.com) and newspapers (Journal of Editors, Kathimerini). As a director, his first work The Canaries (2019) won the Fischer Audience Award for best Greek production under the age of 50 at the 21st Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, while he also participated in other film festivals (7th Syros International Film Festival, Chania Film Festival, MOLDOX, New York Greek Film Festival).

Yorgos Kyvernitis was born in Athens in 1988. He studied in the Department of Architects In Engineering at the University of Patras and has a Postgraduate Degree in Cultural Technology and Communication, Department of Culture and Documentary Film Production at the University of the Aegean. He has been working as a Professional Photographer since 2012. Today, he lives in Athens and works as a freelancer. He has worked with numerous greek organizations, websites and newspapers. His first project as a director is The Canaries (2019), which received the Fischer Audience Award for Best Greek Under 50' Production at the 21st Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and participated in other film festivals (7th Syros International Film Festival, Chania Film Festival, MOLDOX, New York Greek Film Festival).
