Περίληψη/Synopsis:
Δεν είναι όλα άσπρο ή μαύρο, ακόμα και στην περίπτωση μιας ζέβρας. Ο Κούμπα είχε την ατυχία να γεννηθεί με τις μισές του ραβδώσεις κι έτσι, το προληπτικό κοπάδι του, του αποδίδει την ξαφνική ξηρασία που έχει πλήξει την περιοχή. Η νεαρή ζέβρα δεν έχει άλλη επιλογή από το να φύγει, για να βρει τον θρυλικό νερόλακκο, όπου οι πρώτες ζέβρες απόκτησαν τις ρίγες τους. Στο ταξίδι του αυτό ο Κούμπα θα έχει για συνοδοιπόρους μία θρασύτατη αντιλόπη και μία φανταχτερή στρουθοκάμηλο, ενώ θα γνωρίσει ένα σωρό εκκεντρικούς χαρακτήρες. Η πραγματική πρόκληση θα έρθει, όταν στον δρόμο του εμφανιστεί μια άγρια λεοπάρδαλη.
A half-striped zebra is born into an insular, isolated herd obsessed with stripes. Rumors that the strange foal is cursed spread and, before long, he is blamed for the drought that sets into the Great Karoo. The young zebra has no choice but to leave to find the legendary pond, where the first zebras got their stripes. On the journey, Khuba will have a compassionate antelope and a fancy ostrich for his companions, and will meet a lot of eccentric characters. The real challenge will come when a wild leopard appears on its way.

Ο Anthony Silverston είναι παραγωγός animation, σεναριογράφος και σκηνοθέτης. Γεννήθηκε στο Cape Town και μεγάλωσε στο Kalk Bay, όταν ήταν ακόμη ένα μικρό ψαροχώρι. Σπούδασε animation στο Waldorf school αλλά αργότερα σπούδασε επιστήμες, αφού τότε, το animation δεν ήταν ενεργό στην περιοχή του. Απόλαυσε την επιστήμη αλλά πάντα του έλειπε η τέχνη κι αφού δούλεψε ένα χρόνο σε εργαστήρι γενετικής, αποφάσισε να στραφεί σταδιακά στις ταινίες μικρού μήκους. Khumba (2014), Zambezia (2012)
Anthony Silverston is an animation producer, writer and director. He was born in Cape Town and grew up in Kalk Bay, when it was still a little fishing village. He went to Waldorf school, but then he studied science because at the time there was not much happening in animation locally. He enjoyed sides of it but always missed art so after working for a year in a genetics lab he decided to make the shift and slowly worked his way into the industry through a few short films.
