Director's Biography/Director's Short Bio:

Hu Bo was born on July 20, 1988 in the city of Chinan. In 2014 he graduated from the Beijing Film Academy. His short film Distant Father won a Directing Award at the China Film Festival and in the same year his short film Night Runner was selected as nominated for a Golden Horse by the Taipei Academy. In 2017, Hu Bo participated in "First Training Camp", under the guidance of Bella Tarr. During the seminar he completed the short film Man in the Well. In the same year he released (under the pseudonym Hu Kian) two collections of short stories causing a special sensation to the reading public of China. He committed suicide at the age of 29 in 2017, after completing his first feature film An Elephant Standing Still.
