Synopsis:
The Christmas story is a metaphor for O's short story. Hernie, The Gifts of the Magi to the present day. Christos and Sophia are two young children in love who live together in The Athens of the crisis. They have rented a house and live together but their income does not allow them to dream and make plans. Christmas is coming and Sophia wants to make a gift to Christos. Because he has no money, he decides to give a pawnshop a family heirloom. But he will find himself facing an unexpected coincidence.
The Christmas Tale is based on O'Herney's short story, The Gifts of the Magi. Christos and Sofia are young and in love and live together in Athens during the crisis. They have rented a house but their income does not allow them to dream and make plans. Christmas is coming and Sophia wants to make a gift to Christos. Because she has no money, she decides to give a family heirloom to a pawnshop. But she will find herself in front of an unexpected coincidence.

Director's/Biography Biography:
Kostas Pliakos is a journalist and filmmaker living in Athens. He has worked for 20 years in newspapers, magazines and has collaborated with foreign television stations such as SRF (Switzerland), TVP (Argentina), NDTV (India), for news, TV shows and documentaries. For many years he has covered international events and has carried out missions to more than thirty countries in Europe, Asia, South and Central America and Africa. As a director and producer he has made two feature-length documentaries which have been awarded at Greek and foreign festivals and a short film, while his photographic work has also been awarded in competitions in Greece. The Christmas Story is his first fiction film. He studied journalism, economics and film in Athens, Patras and Barcelona and speaks English, Spanish and Italian.
