Synopsis:
Greece: a modern tragedy. Driven by the crisis, George and Anna have left to try their luck abroad. But, like Odysseus, the ancient hero, the nostos, the return, haunts them. Dimitri has decided to return to his country. He has returned "as a resistance" to defend his homeland. But is Greece a country to which one can return? Nostos records the modern Odyssey of three young Greeks crushed by a dominant heritage, which faces a crisis of modernity.

Nostos chronicles the contemporary odyssey of three young Greeks, both carried and crushed by a prestigious heritage, which is facing a crisis of modernity.
Director's Biography/Director's Short Bio:
Cyril Lafon was born in Bayonne, France. He studied Ancient Greek and taught them in the area of Paris and Bordeaux. He moved to Greece in 2002 and learned Modern Greek. On his return he turned to the documentary, completing a Master Image and Society course at the University of Evry. His final work in Evry, Euskaldun has already summoned the evocative power of language and ancestral culture (Basque) that is in danger. He returned to Greece during the upcoming riots in 2009 to film his second homeland. This new meeting with contemporary Greece inspired the writing of his first film, Nostos (2018)
Cyril Lafon was born in Bayonne, Basque Country, France. He studied Ancient Greek before teaching it in the region of Paris, then in Bordeaux. He moved to Greece in 2002 and learnt modern Greek. Upon his return, he shifted towards documentary cinema, completing a course of Master Image and Society at the University of Evry. His final project at Evry, Euskaldun, already summoned the evocative power of language, and of an ancestral culture (Basque) confronting the possibility of its disappearance. He returned to Greece during the blazing riots in 2009 to film his second homeland. This new encounter with modern-day Greece inspired the writing of his first film, Nostos (2018)
