Six Days Cinema Project

The 8
^th
Chania International Film Festival offers a unique experience to a group of children, who want to live within 6 days the experience of creating a short film.

What will happen:
During the workshop, we write a script, do filming and editing. Although the workshop is practical in nature, we spend time where it is needed to learn basic concepts of cinema. The main purpose is to create a film, which is the product of collaboration, ideas and productivity.

The film will be screened at the close of the
^8th
Chania International Film Festival.

To whom it is addressed: to 10 students

Ages: From the third grade of gymnasium up to the third grade of Lyceum.

Workshop duration: 6 days from 3 hours each day

Days of action implementation:

Friday 23/ 10 - afternoon time

Saturday 24/10 - morning time

Sunday 25/10 - morning time

Monday 26/10 - afternoon time

Tuesday 27/10 - morning time

Wednesday 28/10 - morning time

It is mandatory to be present all days
It is mandatory to present a relevant statement of the parent or guardian that allows participation in the project

Kyriakos Charitakis' biography:

He was born and raised in Heraklion, Crete. The first contact with filmmaking was in 2006. In 2007 he created with the 7th Lyceum of Heraklion the film The Motorcyclist, which was distinguished at the Olympia Film Festival for Children and Young People. In 2009 he began a collaboration with the Cine-courses and the Cultural Society of Crete. In the following years, he created and collaborated in short films and documentaries. He has watched many student films at the Olympia Festival which he visits every year. Since 2013, she has been teaching film techniques during the Olympia Festivals in schools that visit them and creates, together with students, short documentary films in Greece and abroad. A key member of the educational team and the creative team of the Chania International Film Festival.
