Synopsis:

The loss of historical memory means a loss of the ability to understand the present and predict the future. Unpublished footage of a flammable negative 35mm of pioneering filmmakers of the period 1936-1952: Metaxas dictatorship, Albanian epic, German Occupation, Resistance, Liberation, British landing, Dekembriana, Civil War, extraordinary military courts, Makronissos. Director's Biography/Director's Short Bio:

Nikos Kavoukidis was born in Nikaia, Piraeus to parents from Asia Minor. He began his film career in 1955 at Finos Film at the age of 15. He has worked in a large number of films as director of photography and editors, with directors such as Alekos Sakelarios, Dinos Dimopoulos and Giannis Dalianidis, among others. In 1968 he created his own production company, Tele Film, and collaborated as a director of photography, editor and co-producer with directors of the old and new Greek cinema in dozens of films. He is repeatedly awarded for his work in film, television and theater. He is vice-president of the Greek Film Archive, an honorary member of the Society of Greek Directors, ETEKT and the Union of Greek Filmmakers.
