Synopsis:
The day after the July 23, 2018 fire that broke out in Mati and the surrounding areas, the survivors face their injuries. One of them is Penny, who spends over a year in hospitals and rehabilitation center. Doctors and volunteers help burners move forward, but the course looks like an Odyssey.
After the fire that broke out on the 23rd of July 2018 in the area of Mati, outside Athens, Greece, survivors try to cope with their traumas. One of them is Penny, a woman who spends more than one year at the hospitals and rehabilitation center. Doctors and volunteers are doing their best to help the burn victims, but healing is an Odyssey.
Director's/Biography Biography:
Hara Bourgani was born in Athens and has been working as a journalist since 2001. He has mainly dealt with health issues in the periodical press. He studied Communication and Mass Media at the Kapodistrian University of Athens and European Journalism (MA, Cardiff University). Since 2016 she started producing videos through an online health channel she created. He has attended seminars on directing and film making (Kapodistrian University of Athens, POFPA Film Sector, Met Film School Berlin, etc.). The documentary People after the Fire is her first film work.
