Synopsis:

Mehran is a Kurdish refugee from Syria. He started writing stories when he was an immigrant in Iraq because he wanted to give a voice to those who left their homeland without their will. So, he started asking those he met there and those he met on the trip to Europe, why they left their country. His dream was that these stories would once be published. But he never imagined that one of them would one day become a short film.

Mhran is a Kurdish refugee from Syria. He started writing stories while he was living as an immigrant in Iraq, because he wanted to give voice to the people he met and were forced to leave their countries. So, he asked everyone he met there, as well as everyone he met along the way to Europe, to tell him their stories. His dream was to publish them, but he never imagined that one of them would become the script for his first short film.

Director's Biography/Director's Short Bio:

Fotini Stefani has studied Social Anthropology at Panteion University and has done postgraduate studies in Visual Anthropology at the University of Manchester. He has worked in NGOs and KEK in the organization and implementation of programs co-financed by the European Union. He has also directed and produced documentaries, which have been screened at various festivals in Greece. Finally, she is a member of the self-organized group Balkan Can Kino and one of the curators of the Balkan Can Kino Film Festival in Athens.

Foteini Stefani has an undergraduate degree in Social Anthropology and a Master’s Degree in Visual Anthropology from the University of Manchester, UK. She has produced and directed several documentaries that have been screened in various film festivals in Greece, including the Athens Ethnographic Film Festival, the International Film Festival of the Peloponese, the Chalkida Documentary Festival and others. She works as a free lancer and she is a member and curator of the Balkan Can Kino Film Festival in Athens.
