Synopsis:

"Myrtis" is the name given to the reconstruction of the face of an 11-year-old girl – victim of the plague that in 431 BC killed 1/3 of the inhabitants of Athens. The redevelopment was carried out by special scientists in 2010 and shortly after it was included in a thematic exhibition that toured museums and exhibition spaces in Greece and abroad. In this way, Myrtis managed to "communicate" with the people of the 21st century and become a special case of cultural good, as it is an entity with elements concerning both science and education, while it also acts as a means of awakening consciences, calling for action for major global problems, against war, in mobilization for the salvation of millions of children who die every year from diseases that can be treated.
