O Claus Räfle γεννήθηκε το 1962. Από τις αρχές της δεκαετίας του '90, έχει δείξει μια αίσθηση για προκλητικά θέματα και συναρπαστικές ιστορίες με τα κινηματογραφικά του έργα που εφαρμόζει με σύγχρονο και οπτικά ευαίσθητο τρόπο. Το βαθύ χιούμορ και οι λακωνικές αφηγήσεις, επισημάνθηκαν ως η υπογραφή των ταινιών του από τους κριτικούς. Συνολικά, παρήγαγε περισσότερα από 40 τηλεοπτικά ντοκιμαντέρ για τα ARD, ZDF και arte. Το σατιρικό του τηλεοπτικό ντοκιμαντέρ Die Heftmachter, κέρδισε το βραβείο Silver Grimme-Preis, το σημαντικότερο βραβείο Γερμανικής τηλεόρασης, για το καλύτερο δημοσιογραφικό έργο για την τηλεόραση το 1991. Η πρώτη του ταινία μεγάλου μήκους Der Kandidat, μια πολιτική σάτιρα, έλαβε ειδική μνεία στο Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Max Ophüls του 2001, ενώ το ντοκιμαντέρ του Salon Kitty πωλήθηκε σε πολλές χώρες. Μαζί με την Alejandra López, ανέπτυξε και έγραψε Die Unsichtbaren - wir wollen leben / The Invisibles για τον κινηματογράφο.

Claus Räfle was born in 1962. Since the beginning of the 90s, he has been demonstrating a sense for provocative topics and exciting stories with his filmic works which he implements in a modern and visually sensitive way. Time and time again, the profound humor and the laconic narratives were highlighted as the signature of his films by juries and critics alike. All in all, he produced more than 40 feature-length TV documentaries for the ARD, ZDF and arte. His satirical TV documentary Die Heftmachter was awarded the Silver Grimme-Preis, the most important German TV award, for the best journalistic work for TV in the year 1991. His first feature film Der Kandidat, a political satire which was filmed as a mockumentary, received a special mention at the 2001 Max Ophüls Film Festival. His documentary Salon Kitty was sold to numerous countries. Together with Alejandra López, he developed and wrote Die Unsichtbaren – wir wollen leben/The Invisibles for the cinema.
