One of the greatest figures of Greek cinema, Nikos Kavoukidis honors with his presence the 7th Chania Film Festival.
Nikos Kavoukidis is in Chania and visited the chania film festival. On Friday (25/10) at 09:30 in the morning, the documentary film (produced in 2016) “Memories” will be screened to school students, which is historical material of an archive from the events of 1936 and the dictatorship of Metaxas, the epic of the ’40s, the German occupation and the civil war to the persecutions that followed and Makronissos. The film, apart from its quality, is screened on the eve of the National Anniversary of October 28th and is a teaching lesson for children in this most turbulent period of modern Greek history.
At the same time, on Friday (25/10) in the afternoon, in zone 6-8 will be screened the film of Menelaos Kirlidis “Nikos Kavoukidis: The power of the image” that highlights the life and work of Nikos Kavoukidis, through personal testimonies and documents. A film in which the history of Greek cinema unfolds, since Nikos Kavoukidis is his living history for the last 65 years!
Nikos Kavoukidis said he was excited about both the facilities of the Chania Film Festival and its organization, while he praised the initiative to conduct educational programs for school students.
