Documentary for All: Accessible documentary screenings for the deaf, hard of hearing and blind from the 9th Chania International Film Festival

The 9th Chania Film Festival, EKOME and the Department of Social Policy of the Municipality of Chania are organizing on Friday, October 29, 2021, 17:00 – 18:00, at the Cultural Center of Chania, the special screening entitled:

“Documentary for All:

Accessible documentary screenings for the deaf, hard of hearing and blind”

Within the framework of the action, the films will be screened.

One school, two worlds / Primary School of Emprosniero

and

Never tell you “it’s too late” / SDE of Chania

created in the framework of the educational programs CineLessons and CreDoc of the Chania International Film Festival

and

EKOME undertook the special subtitling and their audio description

With a view to including people with disabilities, the aim is to raise awareness of the accessibility of audiovisual production to specific categories of the population. At the same time, the emergence of the documentary as a genre addressed to everyone, the possibility of its pedagogical exploitation, the need to preserve and further promote it in Greece and abroad.
