In a touching evening, the presentation of the book, “From Chania to Hollywood” by Lefteris Lambrakis. At the event, organized by the7th Chania International Film Festival, attended by many of his friends Film.
During the event, the pioneers of Chania Filmmakers, Nikos Kavros, Dimitris Kasimatis, Giannis Mazokopakis, Nikolaos Hadjikanellos and Petros Kavros were awarded. The protagonists remembered personal moments from their cinematic life, filling the hall of the Cultural Center of Chania with emotion. Also, for their contribution to the city’s film events, honorary awards were received by the families of filmmakers who are no longer with us, Konstantinos and Giorgos Venianakis, Manolis and Giorgos Atsalakis and Giorgos Bright.
Finally, awards were given to two of the protagonists of the Film Clubs that operated in our city, Kostas Mavrakakis and Irene Kalfaki. The awards were given by the Mayor of Chania, Panagiotis Simandrakis, the Regional Councilor of Crete, Sofia Malandraki, the Director of the Festival, Matthaios Frantzeskakis and the actor and author of the book, Lefteris Lambrakis.
