Synopsis:

A 60' documentary in which it is recounted, through rare archival material, the chronicle of the destruction and rebirth of Thessaloniki after the great fire of 1917. At the same time, a society, an era, a city, the circumstances, the people and the decisions that determined it are mapped. It is a cinematic narrative, based on testimonies of the time and interviews of historians and researchers, unfolding unknown aspects of the city's modern history, in a scenario that combines events and human moments, aiming at emotion, but also reflection. Is it possible for a disaster to be an opportunity for a new beginning? This is the case of Thessaloniki, a city that survived the most devastating fire in its history, in 1917, and was reborn from its ashes.
