A great figure of Greek cinema, Nikos Kavoukidis honored with his presence the 7th Chania International Film Festival. Nikos Kavoukidis has a huge career of 65 years in Greek cinema and has collaborated with leading directors and actors.
Nikos Kavoukidis’ documentary film “Memories” and the film-tribute to Nikos Kavoukidis (directed by Menelaos Kyrlidis) “Nikos Kavoukidis: The Power of the Image” were screened at the 7th Film Festival. The Director of the Chania Film Festival, Mathios Frantzeskakis, awarded Nikos Kavoukidis for his enormous contribution to Greek cinema. His presence at the Festival and the knowledge he imparted to young and old were the best legacy for the 7th Chania Film Festival.
This year’s event attracted and attracts great personalities of Greek and international cinema. The festival venue, the Cultural Center of Chania, was honored by the presence of the Spaniards Roser Olivier and Luis Montserrat, directors of the film “Transgender Children”.
Also guests of the Festival were the costume designer of the film “Her Work” by Nikos Lambot, Vassilia Rosana. Everyone has the opportunity to talk with the audience that fills the screening halls of the Chania Film Festival and answer questions, based on what was screened in the films.
