In this context, the Chania International Film Festival announces two (2) categories of programs of annual duration and rapid implementation.

A. Annual Educational Programs of the Chania Film Festival

  • cine Lessons and True Stories (CREDOCProject) for the CREATION OF A FILM in a school environment with emphasis on documentary that draws material from local and oral history.

The training at the initial stage will be remote. Face-to-face meetings for filming will take place in the spring of 2021. It is underlined that the program is addressed ONLY to Schools of the Regional Unit of Chania.

  • Creation and Operation of a Film Club at the School with many old and new film proposals, as well as rich actions.

The training will take place in remote (synchronous and asynchronous) monthly meetings. Provided that conditions allow, face-to-face meetings will also take place.

  • cineGrams. Film Literacy Program in Education. Steps towards audiovisual literacy, i.e. acquisition of skills not only of viewing/ consumption, but also of critical evaluation of audiovisual products.
  • “Voices” – Oral History in the Foreground

The aim of the Program is to sensitize the participants – and multiply the local community – on issues of local, public and oral history and to create, after training and education, a nuclear group of researchers of oral history in thematic areas related to the history of Crete.
