Invitation to participate teachers in two annual programs from the cine graphs of the Chania Film Festival (CFF edu).
As we are in the final stretch for the realization of the 7thChania Film Festival / Chania Film Festival (CFF) from 23 October to 2 November 2019, we start and 2 annual lifelong educational programs – within the framework of the action cine graphs – for the educational community of Chania and we invite teachers who are interested to register.
THE FOLLOWING IS THE PRESENTATION OF THE RELEVANT PROGRAMMES
A. Cinematic literacy (face-to-face, 12 training sessions, 120 training hours)
It is addressed to teachers (of all levels), students, animators, parents and anyone interested in the cinematic literacy. A certificate of participation is awarded.
The participants, after getting to know the methods and techniques by which films are produced as cultural products (study and critical approach to “ready-made” audiovisual products), then use the audiovisual tools, become producers themselves, develop personal expression skills, organize and make simple audiovisual presentations (they photograph, film, film, create animation, etc.). Then, they use the above experiences and skills to organize audiovisual expression workshops for children (inside and outside the classroom). The training sessions have a laboratory form and are structured in two sections. Indicative content: First Action: The enjoyment of viewing (The film event as a construction; the viewing- empirical approach of films. Initiation into technical and cultural codes: frame, shot, stage, camera position, lighting, etc. Music, sounds, silences – Silent cinema. Connection of cinema with other forms of expression). Second Action: The enjoyment of creation (Initiation into tools and film techniques; photographic workshop, Creative Writing Workshop; Creation of audiovisual products).

B. Film Club for children at school (50 training hours – 6 in person meetings)
It is addressed to teachers of all levels who wish to organize film clubs in their school (the children of a class or group of students from different classes of the school). The aim is for teachers, children (sometimes parents) in the context of the operation of the film club, to watch a film in school every twenty days and to participate in activities before or after the screening (eight films during a school year). A certificate of participation is awarded. The programme comprises two main actions:
A’ action: The participating teachers, with the help of the animators, in face-to-face meetings per month, have the opportunity to watch and approach in the workshop – with targeted actions (discussion-approach of the film, film games, interdisciplinary activities) – a film.
Action B: In the following month, the participating teachers have the opportunity to project the film to their students, to select and implement activities that were proposed in the first action.

SS : The educational programs and the Actions of the Chania Film Festival HAVE THE APPROVAL of the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs A.P. 90780/Δ2 / 06-06-2019 and A.P. 123444/D7 based on the positive recommendation of the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP) with the no. Cfi. 28/11-07-2019. Scope of application are school units throughout Crete during the Festival and for the entire school year 2019-2020.
